About

Our Story

On October 7, 2023, Israel endured its deadliest attack on Jewish life since the Holocaust. Nearly 1,400 lives were lost, 230 innocent civilians were taken hostage, and thousands of IDF soldiers were mobilized in defense of the nation. Since that day, more than 12,000 rockets have been launched toward Israeli civilians, forcing mass displacement and igniting devastating fires in evacuated communities. At the same time, antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents have surged by more than 400% worldwide.

In the face of this unprecedented crisis, donors and volunteers around the world have stepped forward—sacrificing time, talents, and resources to support Israel’s recovery. Aid for Zion exists to meet this moment. Our mission is to connect supporters in the United States with Israel’s most urgent humanitarian needs. Our current efforts include providing reinforced rocket shelters for vulnerable communities, supplying the IDF with essential gear, assisting displaced families, supporting agricultural recovery, and offering aid to individuals and families experiencing grief, loss, and trauma.

As the reality in Israel continues to evolve, so does our mission. Today, more than 80% of Israelis report symptoms of collective trauma or PTSD resulting from ongoing rocket sirens, displacement, and the hostage crisis. In response, Aid for Zion is preparing to expand our work to include comprehensive mental health and trauma recovery initiatives. These efforts will focus on on-the-ground counseling, crisis intervention, and the training of local professionals to ensure sustainable, long-term healing. Our vision is to equip Israeli therapists, establish community-based trauma care networks, and develop rapid-response crisis teams prepared to serve whenever and wherever they are needed.

In addition to humanitarian and mental health efforts, Aid for Zion is expanding into Jewish advocacy and combating antisemitism—particularly online. In an era marked by the rapid spread of digital propaganda, historical distortion, and growing ignorance surrounding Jews, Israel, and Judaism, we believe silence is not an option. Aid for Zion is committed to confronting antisemitism with truth, education, and unwavering support for the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
